Boy Scout Camp William Hinds is situated on 280 acres of land on the shores of Panther Pond, which is a part of the Sebago Lakes Region of Maine. With our superb waterfront, miles of hiking trails that meet all ability levels, a 300+ seat Dining Hall, Health Lodge, Recreation Hall, and Trading Post, this Boy Scout camp is always ready to provide a fun and adventurous boy scout and webelos summer camp experience.

Council Scoutmaster & SPL Dinner March 22d!

Scoumaster's and SPLs are invted to attend a FREE dinner & discussion on March 22nd from 6-8pm at the Pilgrim House in Brunswick, ME. The topics will include Webelos to Scout transition ideas/programs, Troop Open House ideas, Order of the Arrow elections & participation as well as Summer Camp Programs!

Camp Director Josh Gagnon will be there to talk about camp and the exciting 2011 Program! Join him by registering with your DEs by March 18th!

Operation Fly First Class - April 18-21!

Are you ready for the Great Outdoors? Operation Fly 1st Class is Pine Tree Council program being offered for Boy Scouts up to age 13, Tenderfoot rank to First Class! Older Scouts who still need the ranks taught can also attend! This four-day program will offer new Boy Scouts the opportunity for advancement during the April school vacation with other Scouts under the guidance of older Scouts and experienced leaders! Important Date Changes for 2011!

We've made two very important changes to our due dates for the 2011 season. First, the campership deadline is now April 1st. Second, the Early Bird Discount Deadline is May 1st! Camperships & registration forms will be available soon, but for more information please contact Camp Director Josh Gagnon or call PTC at 207-797-5252 ext. 14.


2011 Staff Application Now Available!

We are now hiring for the 2011 season! Why do you want to work at Camp Hinds? You can live, play, and work in the great outdoors, go on active adventures, make new friends from all over (even from other countries), learn leadership skills and much much more! We offer invaluable skill-building, leadership, training, and enrichment opportunities found nowhere else. In some cases, we can even work with colleges/universities to help you earn credit while you work! We have a variety of opportunities available, so contact Camp Director Josh Gagnon if you have any questions and then start the application process.

Roof Shoveling Party - Saturday the 5th!

Hi all, because of the deep snow we have received, the rangers are concerned with various roofs (dining hall & pine tree cabing) at Hinds. So, we are going to have a roof shoveling party this Saturday the 5th from 10 AM to 2 PM- lunch will be provided! Adults only!

A big load was taken off the dining hall by the ranger staff yesterday but more is needed to come off before the next storms!

During the deep snows of February school vacation, 30 lucky Boy Scouts will be able to stay warm and cozy at the Rotary Training Center at Camp Hinds. Pine Tree Council will be hosting Winter Camp 2011 February 20th – 25th. For more information, please visit the winter camp website!

The 2010 troop rotation form is now available! Please be sure to go over the options with your troop and bring it to the Sunday SPL & Leader meeting at camp! NEW for this year, if you have a preference for your outpost days due to leadership requirements, please let us know on the space provided on the form. Online Scheduling Notes

If you are attending Camp Hinds with your troop, your Scoutmaster must enter your merit badge and activity requests into the system - this icludes Trail to Eagle Scouts who will be camping with their own troop.

If you are attending Camp Hinds as a provisional camper, you will receive login information in a letter from the council office once you register for your week - this includes Trail to Eagle Scouts who will be staying in the provisional campsite.

Two BIG Events this Saturday, May 8th!

We have two big events happening this Saturday that we wanted to remind everyone about. First, we have our annual Beaver Workday from 9am-3pm (with lunch provided)! We have a series of projects to help improve camp and are inviting all packs, troops, leaders and friends of Hinds to come and join us for a day with great friends and great service. If you are a 2010 Hinds Leader, and didn't attend our leader meeting April 28th stay for our 4:00 meeting after the workday (dinner and desert provided)! E-mail Camp Director Josh Gagnon or Ranger Bob to RSVP for either event.
