Join the Camp Hinds Staff Family!
Thank you for your interest in employment with Camp Hinds. What do you think of the opportunity to provide over 1,000 Scouts with programs that will allow them to challenge themselves, experience new adventures and build skills and confidence to last a life time? You could be the staff member that becomes a role model and has a positive impact on a Scout for years to come.

Every staff member at Camp Hinds makes an impact with what they do and how they carry themselves. With that in mind, a successful staff member follows the standards of the Scout Oath and Law and has certain additional attributes including creativity, interest in teaching and learning, a positive attitude, patience, enthusiasm and a desire to make every experience FUN!
We are excited you are interested in working with us this summer. A summer as part of the Camp Hinds staff will provide you opportunities to live, play, and work in the great outdoors through skill-building, leadership, training, and enrichment opportunities. If you have any questions, contact Camp Director Josh Gagnon at Joshua.Gagnon@gmail.com.

One of the wonderful things about Camp Hinds is that a vast majority of the staff are former campers. It is common for many Scouts, after experiencing the friendship and dedication of our summer camp staff, to want to return for additional weeks in camp and eventually become staff members themselves. The quality of the camp staff is maintained by a well constructed counselor-in-training program. We look to provide our CITs with a fun, rewarding and challenging training program.
The CIT program has been planned so that Scouts will have increasing responsibilities at camp. Time is spent on learning leadership, teaching and communication skills. Typically during Week 1, Scouts will be able to earn merit badges and learn teamwork by participating in troop rotations as a CIT troop. Week 2 finds our CITs taking limited merit badges while doing observations and some limited assisting in many different areas throughout camp. It is our goal to introduce our CITs to all the programs at camp, including COPE. Week 3 they will experience life as a camp staff – assisting in some merit badge instruction, helping with troop rotations and evening activities at camp, including our campfires. This summer we are going to offer two opportunities to take part in our CIT program. Session 1 is July 7-26 and Session 2 is July 28-August 17. The cost for either session is $200.
We are excited you are interested in joining our CIT program this summer! If you have any questions, contact Camp Director Josh Gagnon at Joshua.Gagnon@gmail.com
Camp Hinds Alumni
The Camp Hinds Alumni Association was originally formed in 1974 out of a growing need to organize the volunteers who want to help Camp Hinds grow. In 1980, the Association incorporated with the state of Maine in order to expand its resources. Since its beginning, the Alumni Association has provided kitchen supplies, materials to the Nature Department, the Craft Shop, the Waterfront, and numerous resources for most aspects of the camps operations.
We need your help! Besides fun, fellowship, meeting new Scouters, and renewing old friendships, we have planned many meaningful projects for completion. Please consider joining and/or pledging your support for an organization that’s sole purpose is to make a Scout's stay at camp the best it can possibly be.
